Electropolishing

What is electropolishing?

It is an electrochemical process that removes small peaks and burrs from the surface of the metal part generally improving its smoothness and giving it a shiny appearance. The process is a form of electrolysis, the acid electrolyte acting as a conduit which removes metal ions from the surface of the stainless steel part.

Electropolishing Bath Sizes

Large Electropolishing Bath:

  • 4.9m long x 1.85m wide and 1.25m deep.

We have a capability to double dip products that are longer than that. We can do rails up to 7.5 metres in length.

  •  Max. weight 750 kg

Small Electropolishing Bath:

  •  1.4m long x 400mm wide x 900mm deep
  •  Max weight 75kg

Benefits of Electropolishing Stainless Steel

  • Deburring, reducing microscopic peaks and smoothing the surface
  • Enhanced corrosion resistance
  • Bright surface finish
  • Ultraclean
  • Improves the hygienic properties of the surface
  • Improves the corrosion resistance properties of the surface
